Flyers and posters are an easy way to market outreach services.
Just look in the yellow pages and contact hospitals, doctor’s offices, dialysis
centers, vision centers, and other medical locations. Call and speak with
someone there about leaving a supply of flyers and a poster for their waiting
room. These places are usually pretty busy, so I’ve found that it is best to
call and talk to the receptionist. More than likely she will be the one setting
the flyers out anyway. Just explain to them who you are and what you would like
them to do. Ask if you could mail them a packet of flyers and posters. I ask for
the receptionist’s name and ask if I can address it to her attention. If you
address it to the doctor, there is a good possibility it will get lost in the
shuffle and since it’s very unlikely that the doctor is who you will talk to,
he’s not going to even know what it is.
Other good places for flyers and posters are health clubs, YMCA, YWCA, Health
Department, Chamber of Commerce and your local Welcome Center.
